Blackboard Ultra General Information

Overview

Blackboard Ultra is the university’s learning management system for accessing and managing online course information and activities all within a streamlined, mobile-friendly interface.

Students can view course materials, submit assignments, participate in discussions, complete tests, track due dates, and review grades and feedback.

Faculty can organize course content, communicate with students, create assignments and assessments, facilitate discussions, and manage grades.

How to Access

Who is eligible?

To access Blackboard Ultra, user must be an active faculty, staff, student or vendor and be assigned (faculty) or enrolled (student, staff, vendor) in a Blackboard course or organization. 

How do I access it?

To access Blackboard:

  • Visit the MySHU Portal
  • Enter your full SHU email and password
  • Once you are logged in, click Blackboard Courses on the Quick Links card

Add content to the course content page in the Blackboard Ultra for your students to review such as a syllabus, lecture notes, readings and more.
Documents allow an instructor to combine different types of content including text, images and video.
Folders allow for further organization of content within Blackboard Ultra.
