How to use Voicemail

Check Voicemail

  1. Press the voicemail button or call x3699 on your SHU-issued Cisco phone
  2. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Enter your SHU voicemail PIN
  3. Press the pound button (#)

 

Check Voicemail Remotely

This process allows you to access your SHU voicemail without needing to interact with your physical desk phone.

  1. Call 203-396-8282
  2. Press the pound button (#)
  3. Press the asterisk button (*)
  4. Enter your 4-digit SHU extension
  5. Press the pound button (#)
  6. Enter your SHU voicemail pin
  7. Press the pound button(#)

 

Change Voicemail PIN

If you do not have your current voicemail PIN, contact the IT Service Desk. You will need to provide the extension of the SHU phone that you want to do the voicemail PIN reset for.

  1. Access your SHU voicemail either in-person or remotely
  2. Press 4 for Set-Up Options
  3. Press 3 for Preferences
  4. Press 1 for PIN change
  5. Enter your new PIN (must be at least 4 digits and different from your previous PIN)
  6. Press the pound button (#)

 

Change Voicemail Greeting

  1. Access your SHU voicemail either in-person or remotely
  2. Press 4 to enter Set-Up options
  3. Press 1 to enter voicemail greeting options
  4. Press 1 to record a new greeting, or press 2 to create a temporary alternate greeting
  5. Review and save your new voicemail recording
