How to Embed a Video from EchoVideo within a Blackboard Document

Embedding an Echo360 lecture capture directly in a Blackboard document gives students seamless, in-context access to recordings without switching platforms, reducing friction and keeping all course materials organized in one place.

Procedure 

  1. Open your Blackboard Ultra course 
  2. In the course content section, click the Plus Sign (+) and then click (+) Create. 
  3. A create item panel will open on the right side of Blackboard; click on the document item

  4. First, title the name of the document item, and then click on the content block to insert a content text box.

  5. Next, click on the (+) Content sign in the text box toolbar, then select Content Market.

  6. Now, in the content market, click on the EchoVideo Embedded Video option to link your existing Echo360 videos within the Blackboard Document item.

  7. Instructors will have several options to choose from, including: 
    • Choose Existing Content: This option lets instructors select videos from the Echo360 library. They can also filter to find videos from previous terms or sections. 
    • Create Content: Instructors can create videos using the Echo360 recording platform and link them directly to the existing Blackboard document. 
    • Upload Content: This allows instructors to upload their video recordings saved on their desktop or personal cloud. 
  8. In this example, the Choose Existing content option was selected.

  9. After clicking next, the instructor will see a prompt to enter a display name for the title. Type a display name and click on Insert.

  10. Lastly, click Save in the top right corner of Blackboard to save the changes made to the document item within Blackboard.
