Outlook Calendar Updates Automatically Moved to Deleted Items Folder

Issue Description

Updates to Outlook Calendar invites are going directly to the Deleted Items Folder. This may cause users to miss important updates to meetings.

Resolution

An update to a setting will change this behavior.

For New Outlook:

  • From the File menu, select the Settings item
  • Click on the Calendar option on the left navigation and then the Events and invitations option on the right
  • Scroll to the Invitations from other people section and uncheck the box near
  • Click Save on the bottom right and restart Outlook for the change to take effect

 

For Old Outlook:

  • From the File menu, select the Options item
  • Click on the Mail option in the left navigation
  • Scroll to the Tracking section
  • Check the box near After updating tracking information, move receipt to: and change the folder to Inbox
  • Click OK on the bottom right and restart Outlook for the change to take effect
