Anthology Ally integrates into Blackboard Ultra to gauge the accessibility of course content. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to content accessibility. With Anthology Ally instructors can receive feedback on the accessibility of course content and use the step-by-step instructions to make improvements. In addition, Ally automatically creates alternate versions of your files, allowing students to choose the type of file that best suits their needs.

Who is eligible?

Active faculty and students using Blackboard. Instructors are provided with guidance and steps to make course content more accessible. Students are provided options to download the course content in alternative formats to support various types of learning methods. 

Where and how do I access it?

Anthology Ally is enabled across all Blackboard courses and organizations in the system.

Ally creates alternative formats of the original content instructors add to their courses. These formats are made available in conjunction with the original file so everything is in one convenient location.
When an instructor uploads a document to Blackboard, Ally will analyze the document for its accessibility. Once analyzed, the document will show a gauge to indicate the level of accessibility to the student.
The Ally Course Accessibility Report works with the accessibility indicators on each file. It provides an accessibility summary and overview at the course level.
