How to Connect to a SHU Network Printer

This process is only for SHU staff or faculty that have a SHU-issued computer and a networked department printer. These printers are separate from SHU-Canon printers that can be utilized by all SHU members from personal and work devices.

Windows

  1. Locate the printer name. Either in your previous printer list, or physically on the printer (Example: ACA-BIO-01).
  2. Connect your SHU-issued computer to the Sacred Heart wireless network on campus.
  3. If you are reconnecting to the printer due to the server retirement, please delete the old printer with the same name first from Printers & Scanners in System Settings.
  4. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  5. Input \\d1atapp-usrprt1\[printer-name] (Example: \\d1atapp-usrprt1\ACA-BIO-01) then press OK.
  1. Once the connection is complete, a window similar to the one below will appear.
