Background

In addition to the browser-based view, the Ellucian Experience platform also offers a mobile-based version through a mobile app. The app is available to any individual with access to the MySHU portal. Links to the app on iOS or Android app stores can be found here:

Downloading the MySHU Portal Application

To find the Ellucian Experience app, navigate to the app store on your mobile device and search "Sacred Heart University". Select the Sacred Hearty University app and proceed to install it on your mobile device:

 

 

Setting up the MySHU Portal Application

Upon opening the app for the first time you will need to sign in using your Sacred Heart email address and password. 

 
 

After a successful sign in you will reach the home screen and be asked if you wish for the app to send notifications:

 

Select your notification preference to complete the set up of the app on your device.

Navigating the MySHU Portal Application

The Experience app will contain all of the same content that appears in the browser-based version of the platform. Certain navigation aspects of the platform have also been updated in order to enhance the mobile experience. 

The primary navigation pane is located at the bottom of the app and is broken out as follows:

 

  1. Home - Selecting this icon will bring you to your last page view or the Home Screen if you are opening the app for the first time.
  2. Search - Selecting this icon will open the All Cards page and allow you to search through all of the available cards.
  3. Calendar - Selecting this icon will open your calendar and the Open Tasks page if you have created any tasks.
  4. Notifications - Selecting this icon will open the notifications page and display your pending notifications.
  5. Applications - Selecting this icon will open the additional applications page (for specific users only).
  6. Main Menu - Selecting this icon will open the Main Menu that contains all of the card categories, additional resource links, and links to Sacred Heart social media accounts.

The top of the Home screen is broken out as follows:

  1. Announcements - Select this field to display any published announcements.
  2. Categories - Select this field to display and navigate between all of the available card categories.
  3. View - Select either of the icons in this field to display cards (A) as boxes or rows (B):

 

Finally, similar to the browser version, you have the ability to rearrange the order of the cards or bookmark them. Select the bookmark icon to save a card to your home screen:

Select the three dots icon (1) to open the options menu where you can remove a previously saved favorite and use the Move forward/backward options to change the where the cards is located on the screen (2):
