Through ILP, instructors can submit final course grades directly from the LMS into the student information system without needing to re-enter data manually. This streamlines the grading process, reduces errors, and ensures that grades appear consistently in SPA, where advisors and students can view academic progress and plan future coursework.
Prerequisites
- To use this feature you must be the Instructor of the course in Colleague and have Instructor permissions to the course in Blackboard.
- For the easiest process, set up your Overall Grade in Blackboard prior to submitting grades. (Refer to the articles on the right-hand side for guidance).
Procedure
- Access the course in Blackboard that you would like to submit grades to SPA for.
- On the right hand side of the course, select View Course & Institution Tools located under Books & Tools in the Details & Actions pane.
- Select Submit Grades to SPA from the list of available tools that appear.
Submitting Midsemester Grades
- By default, when you click the submit grades tool, you will land on the midsemester grade submission tab. If your overall grade is configured, the tool will automatically populate the grades for submission.
- Review the grades located in the midsemester grade column. If needed, change the student's grade appropriately.
- Enter the last attended date, or check never attended where applicable.
- Select Submit
- If all grades submit correctly, a green banner will appear to notify you, and the submitted grades column will populate with the grades submitted to SPA.
Submitting Final Grades
- Once you are in the tool, select the Final tab at the top.
- Review the grades located in the final column. If needed, change the student's grade appropriately.
- Enter the last attended date, or check never attended where applicable.
- Select Submit
- If all grades submit correctly, a green banner will appear to notify you, and the submitted grades column will populate with the grades submitted to SPA.
