Summary
When a Blackboard Ultra course is copied into a new term, FeedbackFruits activities do not automatically reconnect to their original templates. Instructors must open the copied FeedbackFruits activity and create a new copy from the saved FeedbackFruits template in the Institutional Library. This process establishes a fresh connection between Blackboard and FeedbackFruits, ensuring that student enrollments, activity settings, grade synchronization, and gradebook integration function correctly.
Body
Description
When a Blackboard Ultra course is copied into a new term, FeedbackFruits activities are copied as placeholders. To use the activity in the new course, instructors must open the copied FeedbackFruits item and create a new copy from the saved FeedbackFruits template. This process reconnects the activity to the new course and ensures grading and roster synchronization function correctly.
Overview of Steps
- Open the copied FeedbackFruits activity
- Locate the saved template
- Create a new copy of the template
- Review dates and assignment settings
- Open the activity once after copying
- Verify Gradebook synchronization
- Test the activity before making it available to students
Procedure
- Navigate to Content in your course area containing the FeedbackFruits assignment.
- Select the FeedbackFruits activity to launch the setup screen.
- Click on Institutional Libraries and locate your list of activities.
Select the activity that you are linking to. (Templates are typically named after the assignment or activity found in your course.)
Select Copy and Edit
- FeedbackFruits will create a new version of the activity in your course.
- The copied activity will contain the settings, instructions, and grading configuration saved within the template. Go through those and be sure they are set appropriately.
- Open the FeedbackFruits activity one additional time and allow the activity to load completely. This step helps establish the Blackboard-to-FeedbackFruits connection and supports roster and grade synchronization.
- Create Gradebook entry column in Blackboard
- Go to the assignment link in Content
- Click the three dots at the right (Don't open the assignment).
- Select Edit.
- Check the box for Create Gradebook entry for this item.

- Visit Gradebook and see if the assignment column has been created.
