Learning Technology Technician

The Learning Technology Technician is responsible for maintenance and support of the AV and associated equipment installed in classrooms, computer labs and other presentation spaces on all Sacred Heart campuses as assigned by their supervisor(s). The Learning Technology Technician will also act as shift leader to work studies while on shift.
(work independently for small projects).

Students are required to work 15 hours per week during fall and spring semesters. Up to 35 hours per week during winter, spring and summer breaks. After-hours and weekend availability may be necessary to meet project schedules. The role involves a blend of office and on-site tasks, including equipment configuration.
Responsibilities
- Level 1 support of Audio-Visual technology for our students, faculty and staff
- Maintaining and supporting Audio Visual equipment installed in the classrooms
- Maintaining a clean and organized work and storage area
- Monitor and maintain AV ITSM ticket queue – (TDX)
- Monitor and respond to device management software – Qsys Reflect
- Shift manager while on schedule with Work study staff
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Enrollment in at least one (1) course at Sacred Heart University
- Basic technology experience, knowledge, and interest
- Ability to work 15 hours per week during the semester
- Ability to work up to 35 hours per week during winter, spring, and summer breaks
Audio Visual Graduate Assistant

To manage the day to day operation of the AV Checkout office, work with full time staff to supervise the student employees and assist with the project management duties within the Audio Visual area. As well as provide technical support for installed Audio Visual technology.

Working after hours and during the weekend to complete assigned tasks may be required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain in-class, spare parts and portable equipment inventory, and their respective scheduling.
- Provide assistance for the ordering, distribution and receiving of audio visual materials and equipment.
- Recruit, train and maintain daily schedule of work study employees.
- Provide technical training for the community on equipment usage.
- Daily monitoring and updating of open and pending tickets.
- Assist full time Audio Visual Technicians in all areas of support where needed.
- Research faculty and student requests for materials and make recommendations on equipment use.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a computer-related discipline or business related discipline.
- Computer proficiency with MS office, Windows operating systems and Mac OS10+.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Mature sense of responsibility and judgment.
- Time management skills necessary to keep on-task with multiple project assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to teach peers.
