How to Setup MFA

Once it has been at least an hour since you activate your account, you can sign in to your new SHU email.

  1. Go to outlook.office.com and sign in with your full email and password set during activation.
    1. Note: If you are unable to complete this step 3 hours after attempting to activate your account, your account might not have been activated.
  2. You will be prompted with a screen stating that "More information is needed". Click Next.
  3. On your phone, go to an application store (Google Play or Apple Store) and search for Microsoft Authenticator.
  4. Download the application and wait for it to install. Open the application when it is installed.
  5. In the browser, continue to the next step until you see a QR code.
  6. In Microsoft Authenticator, select "Scan QR code" option and allow the access to your camera. Point your camera at the QR code.
  7. Your account will be added, and you will be able to proceed to the next step.
  8. Your device will test the authentication by prompting you to enter the provided code.
  9. Finish through the rest of the testing and setup as directed. You will then be loaded into your new email.
