Adding/Updating CIP Codes
To add a CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) Code to be used with academic programs on PROG or major codes on MAJR, do the following:
- Log in to Colleague
- Access the CIPD (CIP Definition) screen
- Add a code using the following format: ##.####
- Add the CIP code US Dept of Education description (must be less than 30 characters, abbreviate as needed)
- Save and Update out of the screen
If you are adding a new CIP code for an academic program, it's important to make sure that the CIP code used in the academic program matches the program major code National ID on MAJR so that we don't run into any issues with reporting to Terra Dotta for the international students.
