Printing a Report from Colleague
-
Select a mnemonic to begin to run your report and fill in the parameter fields as you would like to.
-
Once you are at the PDEF (print definition) form, change the following field:
-
Output Device (set to H for hold/browse)
- Click SAVE on this screen
- Click UPDATE to proceed
-
Click SAVE on the last form (screen)
-
Click UPDATE to proceed and then the report will begin to generate and open to a Report Browser window with the report in view
-
In the Report Browser window, click on EXPORT PDF
-
Click CREATE PDF to proceed
-
The report will open into a PDF that you can then print
Note:
Printing reports such as Degree Audit (EVAL) from a PDF will sometimes not work with Internet Explorer and you will get a Page cannot be displayed message. When that happens, change the browser to Firefox (setting Firefox as your default browser so the settings remain) and that should allow you to generate a PDF report using the above steps. You should also note that when you are closing the PDF after printing it out, do *not* use the X in the upper right hand corner of the Firefox window to close out the report, click the X that is associated with the report tab. It should appear next to the tab that reads Ellucian UI Launcher. If you use the X in the upper right corner and close out of Firefox, you will not be able to generate another report until you've logged out and back in again.
NOTE: Some users on some secure desktops are experiencing issues trying to print in Colleague from PDF. It looks like whenever the user logs in their user profile is overwriting settings that allow the PDF to open and print. It is not an issue with all secure desktops. Chip is working to get the settings to stay permanently on their desktop. Until then, this is a workaround to print something straight from Colleague:
-
When the report opens into the Report Browser window, click on SAVE AS
-
In the DOWNLOAD FILE box, click SAVE AS
-
For the DO YOU WANT TO SAVE ###########?, click OK
-
In the SAVE AS window, click on DESKTOP in the LEFT PANE (so it will save to your desktop in Secure Desk)
-
Click SAVE
-
Go to your desktop and double click on the filename
-
Open it in NOTEPAD
-
Print it
