How to Monitor Course Enrollments using RGAM and SMIN in Colleague

Summary

There are two Colleague screens that allow you to monitor course enrollments. RGAM - Registration Activity Monitor and SMIN - Section Meeting Inquiry. Both provide valuable information on the enrollment in course sections and should give you the total enrolled.

Monitoring Course Enrollments using RGAM and SMIN

RGAM - Registration Activity Monitor

RGAM will provide you with Section Capacity, Used (Number Enrolled), Available Seats, Waitlist and Percentage Enrolled. 

  1. To access RGAM, enter the mnemonic RGAM in the form search in the upper left hand corner of your Colleague session and click Search.
  2. When prompted for the Reg Controls Lookup type NAMELESS and click OK.
  3. When prompted for the Course Section Lookup enter as much of the course section as you can starting with the term then subject then catalog number and finally section.
    • For example:  15/SP CS 100 A (if you leave out the section you will get all sections of CS 100 in the term, if you leave out the section *and* catalog number you will get all CS courses in the term)

SMIN - Section Meeting Inquiry

SMIN will provide you with the total enrollment number for a course section, the instructor for the course and the section meeting information.  Additionally you are able to detail in to the roster of students registered for the course section.

  1. To access SMIN, enter the mnemonic SMIN in the form search in the upper left hand corner of your Colleague session and click Search.
  2. When prompted for the Course Section Lookup enter as much of the course section as you can starting with the term then subject then catalog number and finally section.
    • For example:  15/SP CS 100 A (if you leave out the section you will get all sections of CS 100 in the term, if you leave out the section *and* catalog number you will get all CS courses in the term)
