Before installing and/or using SPSS, the user's computer must be connected to the Sacred Heart Wi-Fi network or the Sacred Heart VPN. Any other VPNs must be turned off.

1. Once you are connected to the campus network or the VPN, run IBM_SPSS_STATISTICS_CLIENT_64-BIT.ex after downloading it from the SPSS Windows link. 
2. Allow the program to make changes to the computer.
3. Mount the file to desktop and open file. 
4. When prompted click Next to begin the installation.
5. Accept the terms of the IBM software license agreement and click Next to continue.
6. Click Yes to install Essentials for Python if prompted and click Next to continue.
7. Accept the terms of the Python license agreement and click Next to continue.
8. Accept the terms of the SPSS Statistics license agreement and click Next to continue.
9. Click Next to accept the default installation folder and continue.
10. Click Install to begin the installation.
11. When the installation is finished, ens​ure the "Start IBM SPSS" box is checked and click Finish.

Licensing SPSS for Windows

When SPSS opens for the first time it will present a window titled "IBM SPSS Statistics 29 Licensing".

1. On the Product Authorization page click Concurrent user license and then click Next to continue.
2. On the License Manager page enter shuacd.sacredheart.edu in the License Manager name box and click Next to continue.
3. On the Licensing Completed page click Finish.
