Installing the Authenticator App
- Open the App Store or Google Play store based on your cell phone device.
- Search for "Microsoft Authenticator"
- Proceed with the installation.
Part 2: Connecting the Authenticator App to your Account
- On a computer, login to https://aka.ms/mfasetup
- Confirm you are in the Security info section on the left hand side.
- Select +Add sign-in Method
- From the drop down list, select Authenticator App

- Proceed through the prompts until you see the QR code. Once the QR code is displayed, open the authenticator app on your phone.
- From the app on your phone, select the + in the top right to add a work or school account.

- It will take 10-20 seconds to register, follow the prompts on screen.
- On your computer, verify the Default Sign-in method is Microsoft Authenticator in the security info tab.
