Planned courses and/or sections no longer needed/wanted can be removed in SPA. Courses (not sections) can be moved from one term to another.
Removing a planned course or section in SPA
- Log in to SPA, go to Student Planning and click Go to Plan & Schedule
- Click on the Timeline tab and go to the term where the course or section you want to remove is planned
- To remove a single course or course section, click on the x in the course or course section block to remove it
- You will be prompted with a message "Confirm Remove Course. Are you sure you want to remove the following item from <term>?" and click Remove
NOTE: There is a Remove Planned Courses button next to the Add a Term. If you use this option, it will prompt you to remove ALL planned courses stating "Remove Planned Courses. Remove all planned courses from the following terms:" Do not use this button unless you intend to remove all courses from your plan.
Moving a planned course to a new term
- Log in to SPA, go to Student Planning and click Go to Plan & Schedule
- Click on the Timeline tab and go to the term where the course or section you want to move to another term is planned
- A course will show up with a grid of dots to the left of the course name. If you hover over the dots, you will see a prompt that says "Click and Drag to move this course"
- Click and drag the course to the term you want to move the course to.
NOTE: You can only drag and move courses from one term to another, you cannot do it with course sections as sections vary from semester to semester. Sections will not show a grid of dots to the left of the course name. If you are unable to move the course to a new term, double check that it doesn't have a section. If it does not have a section code, it's possible that an advisor locked the course on a particular term. If this is the case, please reach out to your advisor to discuss and have the course unlocked so that it can be moved.
