Regular User

Password policy for users with regular accounts that do not have any administrative access, such as Applicants, Students, Adjunct, Faculty, Staff:

• Passwords must be at least 12 characters long.
  • Students should keep their passwords less than 16 characters
    for compatibility with Office 365
• Passwords cannot be any of the last 24 passwords.
• Passwords must contain three of the four following types of characters:
  • Lowercase letters
  • Uppercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Special Characters such as ! # $ % ^ * ( ) { } [ ]
    • DO NOT use the following: , ; / \  ? : @ & = < > 
    • or any character with ASCII value less than 33 or more than 122
• Passwords will expire every 180 days and must be changed.
• Accounts will be locked out for 15 minutes after 6 failed logon attempts.

Administrative Access

Password policy for users with access to platforms storing sensitive information and administrative access to applications such as Colleague, Image Now, Budget Inquiry etc.

• Passwords must be at least 12 characters long.
• Passwords cannot be any of the last 24 passwords.
• Passwords must contain three of the four following types of characters:

• Lowercase letters
• Uppercase letters
• Numbers
• Special Characters such as ! # $ % ^ * ( ) { } [ ]
  • DO NOT use the following: , ; / \  ? : @ & = < > 
  • or any character with ASCII value less than 33 or more than 122

• Passwords will expire every 30-90 days and must be changed.
• Accounts will be locked out for 30 minutes after 5 failed logon attempts.​
