How to Submit Final Grades in SPA

Final grades must be entered for all course sections within 48 hours after the final exam has been given for the course.

Procedure

  1. From the SPA Home page, select the Faculty link. 
  2. A list of courses assigned to the faculty logged into SPA will appear by term, click on the link of the course you want to submit final grades for. 
  3. Select the Grading tab. 
  4. Select the Final Grade tab. 
  5. Select the dropdown in the Final Grade column and select the grade for the student
    • If you select an I or F grade, you will be prompted to either check the Never Attended box (if the student was a no-show for the whole term) or enter the Last Date of Attendance, this step is required
    • You do not have to complete the entire class grading at once, though it is recommended
  6. When you have completed entering all the grades, select Verify at the top of the student list to submit them. 

Additional Information

  • When you have completed entering all the grades for your course, you will see a grading completed message with the date and time that reads "Final grading completed on mm/dd/yyyy at HH:MM by <your name>" 
  • If you update a grade after completing grading but before they've been verified (posted), the message will retain the date and time that you originally completed the grading
  • The Overview tab will show the Final Grade and Midterm Grade (where applicable) side by side as well as the never attended flag and last date of attendance (where applicable)
  • Grades can be changed until you click the Verify button.
    • Note: The Registrar's Office does batch verify once a week for grades that have not been verified.  If you are unable to change a grade, it's likely the grade was verified.  If this happens you will need to submit a change of grade form.

Grade Change Request

There are times where the original grade submitted for the student needs to be changed. If the Registrar has already verified the grades, a Grade Change Request Form must be completed. This form will be submitted to the Registrar's Office. Once received and acted on, the grade change will appear in the system. Please contact the Registrar's Office if you have any questions about this process.
