In compliance with our auditor requests, security, PCI and other statutory requirements, we will be migrating all network login accounts for everyone who uses the Colleague (Datatel) application to a new password policy starting February 1st, 2011.
Under this new policy:
- Your network password will expire every 60 days
- A history of 24 passwords will be retained and, as a result, you will not be able to re-use an old password for 24 expiration periods
Important reminders about your account and protecting University data:
- Never share your username and password with others (you are accountable for any transaction that occur under your username)
- Never post your password on anything that is visible to others
- If you need to walk away from the PC you are logged into, lock the screen or log off until you return
- Always remember to log out of systems completely before you leave at the end of the day
- If your Secure Desktop session freezes, please let us know so we can release any record or license locks that occur as a result
