ChatGPT licenses can be purchased by a department on a per individual basis to grant the user paid access to the AI tool ChatGPT. ChatGPT is a generative AI tool that can assist with tasks such as drafting text, brainstorming ideas, summarizing information, and supporting teaching, learning, and administrative work.
ChatGPT may be used by faculty, staff, and approved students in accordance with university policies, academic integrity guidelines, and data security requirements. Unlike Microsoft Copilot Enterprise, ChatGPT is not approved for use with sensitive or confidential university data, as information entered into the tool is processed outside of the university’s controlled environment. Users are responsible for ensuring that no private, regulated, or sensitive data is shared when using ChatGPT.
