How to Import Infosilem Course Section Data

 

Importing Infosilem Course Section Data

  1. Lockdown DCU for the term we want to extract records from
  2. Wait for the file to be dropped in the Colleague server's S03.SECT.INBOUND folder
    • Naming convention of file is: ##XX_INFOSILEM.TXT
    • where ## is the 2 digit year of the reporting term
    • where XX is the 2-3 characters of the reporting term
  3. Run XICS (Import Course Sections) on Colleague to import the file and create/update course section records
  4. Review the error report to identify what did not import
  5. Manually fix those errors on SECT and subscreens
  6. Run RSMD (Rebuild Section Meeting Dates) to reindex/update COURSE_SEC_MEETINGS
    • Rebuild Meeting and Faculty Summary - enter Yes
    • Check For Conflicts - enter Yes
    • Rebuild If Conflict - enter Yes
    • Terms - enter all the individual terms that fall under the reporting term (ex: 24/SP, 24/S3, 24/S4, 24/M3, 24/M4)
    • Click Save and Update
  7. Run UCSI (Update Course Section Info) to reindex/update field 149 in COURSE_SECTIONS (the hard-coded meeting times that display in SPA's Search for Sections)
    • Update CourseSections in these Terms - enter all the individual terms that fall under the reporting term (ex: 24/SP, 24/S3, 24/S4, 24/M3, 24/M4)
    • Click Save and Update
