Sacred Heart University partners with trusted vendors such as Lenovo, Dell, and Apple to provide university-standard laptops and accessories. These devices are vetted for performance, security, and compatibility with our campus systems.

Available items include:

  • Laptops
  • Monitors and docking stations
  • Keyboards, mice, and other approved accessories

Purchasing standard hardware ensures compatibility with university systems, streamlines support, and qualifies for institutional pricing and warranty coverage.

How to Access SHU eBuy

All standard hardware purchases must be submitted through SHU eBuy, the university’s procurement system.

Follow this Link to open SHU eBuy.
(Access limited to SHU faculty and staff.)

Once logged in:

  1. Click on the Connections Punchout– our current preferred vendor.
  2. Browse available accessories, and bundles aligned with SHU's hardware standards.
  3. Add items to your cart and follow the purchasing workflow within SHU eBuy.

 

New Hire Laptop Requests

When a new hire at Sacred Heart University needs a laptop, the process depends on whether they are filling a brand-new position or replacing someone who previously held the role:

Scenario 1: New Hire Replacing a Previous Employee

If the new hire is inheriting a laptop from a previous employee:

  1. Drop off the existing laptop at the IT Help Desk.
  2. The IT Help Desk Team will:
    • Erase and reformat the device.
    • Update the device’s ownership in the asset management system.
  3. Once ready, the new hire will:
    • Pick up the laptop from the Help Desk.
    • Sign the Laptop Agreement acknowledging receipt.

This process does not require a procurement request—the Help Desk will facilitate the reassignment.

Scenario 2: New Hire in a Brand-New Role

If the laptop is needed for a brand-new position:

  1. Submit a Transform Request Form.
  2. The IT Procurement team will:
    • Assess available inventory.
    • Fulfill the request using available stock.
    • If no laptops are currently available, provide a loaner device until the next refresh cycle.
  3. Once ready, the new hire will:
    • Pick up the assigned device.
    • Sign the Laptop Agreement upon receipt.
