Laptop Repair

Description

IT Service Desk is equipped to repair or facilitate the repair of warranty or Safeware insurance supported devices. IT Service Desk is certified for in-house Apple and Lenovo repairs, and will additionally assist with depot repairs for Apple, Lenovo, Dell, HP and other warranty and Safeware covered devices as stated within warranty or insurance contract.

IT Service Desk is not responsible for client data or loss thereof and will not assist in data backup beyond use of university provided OneDrive license to initiate the backup or download. Any client submitting a laptop for repair must accept responsibility for their data integrity and for backing it up. Data loss is likely to occur during depot repairs, storage device replacement, and operating system installations.

While the device is in repair by the IT Service Desk, the owner of the device is eligible for a loaner laptop. IT Service Desk will make an attempt to accommodate the user by providing a Mac device for Mac users and Windows device for Windows users from the available loaner pool. IT Service Desk does not provide loaner laptops for laptops not in its care (for example, a laptop in repair at the Apple Store).
