The MySHU portal allows students to request assistance, connecting them with appropriate support services. Through the MySHU Portal card, select the category that best matches the needs:
- Career Services – Assistance with career exploration, internships, resumes, or job searches.
- Choosing a Major – Guidance with exploring academic programs, understanding degree requirements, or changing a major.
- Feeling Homesick – Support for students adjusting to campus life or experiencing difficulty being away from home.
- Financial Aid Assistance – Help with financial aid questions, payment plans, or financial hardship.
- Having Trouble Getting Involved / Feeling Unconnected – Support finding campus activities, organizations, or opportunities to build community and engagement.
- Having Trouble with My Roommate – Assistance navigating roommate conflicts or residential living concerns.
- Health Services / Wellness – Access to campus health services, medical care, or wellness resources.
- International / Visa Support – Guidance related to visa status, immigration requirements, or international student resources.
- Mental Health Concerns (Non-Emergency) – Support for stress, anxiety, emotional well-being, or counseling referrals (non-crisis situations).
- Needs Tutoring - For students who would benefit from academic tutoring or subject-specific support.
- Request for Disability Accommodations – Information and assistance with requesting disability accommodations.
- Requesting a Transcript – Help with obtaining official or unofficial academic transcripts.
- Student Advising and Success – Academic advising, course planning, academic difficulty, or overall student success support.
- University Support / Other – For concerns not listed above; requests are reviewed and routed to the appropriate office for follow-up.
Once submitted, requests are directed to the appropriate department to ensure timely response and coordinated student support.
Request Assistance from MySHU
- Login to the MySHU Portal using your SHU e-mail and password
- On the homepage, there is a locked card titled Request Assistance. From the drop down menu on the card, select the assistance category that best fits the support you need.

- Add any notes that can assist the staff member with supporting your request.
- Select Submit.
- The card will change to a confirmation screen with a summary of your alert. Select Done.
