Student types can be added/updated/ended in two ways, manually one student at a time or by batch update, provided the appropriate permissions have been granted.
Manual Update
- Go to the RGPE (Registration Person Entry) or SPRO (Student Profile) screen
- If there is an existing student type, go to the next available line and enter the new student type code.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: you should never delete or overwrite an existing student type unless the student type was entered incorrectly. We need to maintain a history of all student types a student has had for enrollment reporting and billing purposes
- If the date should be future or backdated enter the date for the new student type to start (default is the date it is entered)
- Save and Update out of the screen
Batch Update
There are 2 ways you can use the batch update, either with a saved list of student IDs or by entering each student onto the update screen. If you are updating a large number of students, the best way to do it is using a saved list.
- Create a savedlist of student IDs on the SLED screen, if you are unsure how to do it, refer to this article: Creating Savedlists Using SLED and SLCR
- Go to the UPST (Batch Update Student Types) screen
- Change Update Mode to Y
- Enter in the student type code you are adding, if you are unsure of the code, you can enter ... to look up the code
- Enter the start date of the student type
- Enter the saved list name you created on SLED
- Save and Update twice to execute the process
